At Mill Hill Schools, education goes beyond the classroom. Pupils can explore interests, develop new skills, boost confidence while promoting wellbeing and preparing themselves for future success. All because of their extensive co-curricular programme, which was rated ‘significant strength’ in their latest ISI report.
With their new websites recently launched, we highly recommend you look, and discover, the full range of activities available. In the meantime, here is an overview of what each of the Mill Hill Schools have to offer.
Mill Hill Pre-Prep, Grimsdell, offers a fantastic selection of after-school clubs that spark creativity, encourage teamwork, develop mindfulness and promote physical fitness even in their youngest learners. From multi-sports and football to tap dance, violin and design fusion art club, children are given the chance to explore their interests in a fun and supportive place. With such a wide variety, each child’s curiosity and creativity is nurtured and encouraged to grow.
Visit Grimsdell’s website for a list of exciting clubs and activities available.
With over 90 co-curricular activities for pupils to explore, there’s something for every interest at Belmont. From football to skiing, from coding to drama, pupils will have plenty of opportunities to express themselves and find what they love. There is also Belmont’s annual Activities Week, which offers outdoor challenges and leadership opportunities, helping pupils build resilience and confidence.
One pupil said about the Week: “Every day, we took part in a new activity, which involved using our creativity and imagination. We did creative writing, book sculptures, dancing and a museum trip. We even went to Cadbury World!”

As pupils move through to Mill Hill Senior School, they will also see a growth in their co-curricular programme. With over 400 activities from rugby to golf, girls’ rugby and football, or music to visual arts, there isn’t a stone unturned when it comes to interests and passions.
Sport is an integral part of Mill Hill culture and has become embedded through the Sports Department’s ‘Find Your Fit’ support. This programme splits into two subsections: ‘find for performance’ and ‘fit for life’ which encourages those looking to compete and those wanting to lead a healthy lifestyle.
There is also a bespoke Theatre, named after Patrick Troughton – best known for playing the second incarnation of Doctor Who. The theatre not only offers the opportunity to perform under proper stage lights, but pupils also have the opportunity to learn how to run things behind the scenes both as backstage managers or as an AV team.
Pupils are given further chances to have new experiences through the annual Activities Week. Much like the Prep School, Belmont, pupils.
