Belmont, Mill Hill Prep, is pleased to share that they have received planning permission to build a brand-new multi-sport AstroTurf pitch.
A purpose-built pitch at Belmont will unlock consistent, high quality provision access across a range of sports including:
Rugby, Athletics & Multi-skills – more space and more flexibility for year-round training in all sports.
In addition to this this pitch will mean more time playing and less time travelling. It will bring Games back to Belmont’s campus, restoring valuable learning minutes every day.
With a With an multi-Sport AstroTurf pitch on site, the school can offer more:
• before-school clubs
• lunchtime activity sessions
• after-school team training
• new sports and enrichment opportunities
Reliable training space means more teams, more participation and more pupils discovering the joy of movement. It also means improved lighting, safer evening training and the ability to grow our community offerings and links with local clubs.
The AstroTurf will give Belmont pupils a place to call their own as well as the opportunity to host home fixtures, inter-house competitions and sport festivals. This will help to build community, strengthen school spirit and give parents more opportunities to celebrate children’s achievements.
Susannah Abbot, Head at Belmont, said “This facility will be an absolute game-changer for sport at the school. While Belmont already enjoys an exceptional sporting provision, the Astro will take us to an entirely new level as it will transform training, fixtures, and participation across the year. Now comes the crucial next step: fundraising to bring this vision to life. With the support of our community, we aim to have the Astro completed and ready for our children by this September’’.
