Mill Hill International returned from the ISA London North Badminton Tournament with an incredible eight medals, the maximum possible, for the second year running! This achievement reflects the talent and teamwork of their pupils.
Returning to the venue of Mill Hill International’s greatest sporting triumph, hopes were high for another successful outing. Last year, their boys returned as champions while the girls proudly claimed silver medals, remarkable milestone in our school’s short history. This time, however, with seven of the eight players making their tournament debut, the challenge ahead was even greater.
Girls’ Team Triumph
Karin O, Aixuan W, Masel T, and Clara S represented the girls’ team brilliantly. Determined to improve on last year’s silver, they started strong with a convincing win over Webber Independent. Aixuan delivered the tournament’s biggest singles victory (15-1), while Clara and Masel dominated in doubles. After topping the league table on head-to-head records, the girls claimed gold, a fantastic improvement on last year!
Boys’ Team Battles to Silver
Jim W, Ryan S, Eriksen H, and Tomas P fought hard in a competitive field. Wins against North Bridge House, St James, and Webber Independent Black secured their place in the final for the second year in a row. Despite Jim’s singles win, the boys fell to Webber Purple, finishing with silver, an outstanding result given the high standard of play.
Both teams’ performances were exceptional, leaving staff and pupils proud. Making this another memorable day for Mill Hill International sport!
Reflecting on the event Sarah Bellotti, Head, said “I am so proud of our pupils for an incredible performance at the ISA London North Badminton Tournament, bringing home 8 medals, the maximum possible, for the second year running!"
