Expanding on Swim!’s vast network of facilities already established, Kingshott School will become a new centre for their swimming activity. This collaboration promises to create an enriching swim environment for both pupils and the local community, providing child-led programmes delivered by experts in family friendly facilities.
In addition to the swimming opportunities provided, thanks to this new partnership, the Kingshott School’s changing rooms have received a fantastic refurbishment, elevating the overall experience for pupils, young swimmers and their families.
Becky Adlington, MBE and Swim! creator said: “We’rereally excited to have opened lessons at Kingshott School so that we can provide excellent learn to swim opportunities for children across Hitchin, Stevenage, Letchworth, and surrounding areas. Ensuring as many children as possible have access to swimming pools is an absolute priority of mine. The swimming pool is fantastic and refurbing the changing rooms will enhance the experience for students and our customers. We are privileged to commence this partnership.”
As part of the partnership, Kingshott School were delighted to welcome Olympic swimmer Adam Whitehead to Kingshott. Adam delivered an engaging assembly to pupils from Years 3 to 9, sharing his experiences at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games. Adam then joined Kingshott scholars for lunch, where he took part in a fantastic Q&A session. Pupils had the opportunity to learn more about his training, experiences, and the mindset needed to succeed in competitive swimming.
“We are delighted with the new partnership between Swim! and Kingshott, which has been mutually beneficial from the very start. The refurbishment of the changing rooms has significantly enhanced accessibility, benefiting the wider community, while the recent visit from Adam Whitehead was truly inspiring—particularly for our scholars, who enjoyed a fascinating lunch and Q&A session. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our outstanding swimming pool and facilities bring such positive impact to all” said David West, Head, Kingshott School.
Head of Commercial Operations, Louis Glynn-Williams also shared his thoughts on the partnership, “We are delighted to announce our exciting long-term partnership between Kingshott and Swim! Already, we have witnessed significant benefits, including the refurbishment of our changing rooms and a visit from Adam Whitehead, the former Commonwealth gold medalist, who delivered an invaluable water safety talk to our students. We look forward to working with Swim! in the coming years, as they provide our students and the local community with first-class learn-to-swim lessons in our pool.”
