There was laughter echoing through the school and much excitement as Jack and his Enormous Beanstalk sprang to life at Kingshott and what a performance it was. Bursting with fun, energy and more than a few surprises, the production featured water pistols, custard pies, a guest appearance from Mr Weston and truly exceptional acting that had the audience hooked from start to finish. It was an outstanding showcase of creativity and commitment, made possible by the incredible Kingshott staff, under the inspiring creative direction of Claire Adams, Head of Drama and Leanne Chuck, Drama Teacher, who choreographed all of the dances.
Both performances for parents and for the whole school were met with rapturous applause and nonstop laughter. Teachers transformed into giants, villagers and heroes, singing, dancing, forming a band and throwing themselves wholeheartedly into the magnificent story. The sheer enthusiasm on stage was infectious, and by the final bow it was clear the children had enjoyed every moment. Many left the sports hall, completely voiceless from all the cheering, laughing and screaming as they watched their teachers perform with such joy and abandon.
As well as being hugely entertaining, this much-anticipated annual event had an important purpose. The production also raised vital funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust, with an impressive total of over £1,200 raised this year for the incredible charity. A brilliant blend of fun, community spirit and generosity, Jack and his Enormous Beanstalk was a shining example of what makes Kingshott so special a performance that will be talked about, and fondly remembered, for a long time to come.
