All the elements of our first international school abroad, Mill Hill International School Thailand, are coming together, with various teams working tirelessly to bring our vision to reality. The building for Phase 1 is complete, and following a rigorous inspection by the Thai government in April, the school was awarded its licence. The Prep School building work is also nearly finished to ensure that no intrusive works take place when the school opens and becomes operational.
Recruitment for staff is progressing rapidly and positively, with almost 40 applications received for a Spanish teacher role alone. The Head and Deputy Head from Grimsdell, Mill Hill Pre-Prep, will form the educational and pastoral leadership, while the Early Years and Phase Leaders also hail from Grimsdell. This team, in their own time, is working on curriculum design, resource decisions and acquisitions, as well as the careful planning of a month-long induction for staff. This induction will focus on training, team building, and ensuring readiness for our first day. Our vision and values are also being developed and will be collaboratively refined during our first staff meeting. The Grimsdell Way is set to become The Mill Hill Mindset!
Recruitment for pupils is also progressing well, with over 50% of the classes either full or nearly full, and further assessments and interviews scheduled. We are particularly excited to welcome high-performing scholars in swimming, golf, and music.
The Board of Representatives has been established, with founding Head Kate Simon and CEO of Mill Hill Education Group Antony Spencer taking key positions on the board. The Thai team consists of the Thai Director, the Head of Admissions, the School Business Manager, the HR Department, and the Marketing Department. Ornsirin Holdings continues to project-manage the buildings, facilities, and estate with their outstanding expertise in this field.
