What did the Tatler Schools Guide 2027 say about some of the Schools in our Group?

Across our Group, four schools, Mill Hill, Heathfield School, Tudor Hall and Framlingham College Prep School, have been featured in the prestigious Tatler Schools Guide 2027. The Guide recognises the UK's leading prep and independent schools across the country. Each year, the Tatler team carries out extensive research, taking into consideration each school's results and reputation, while gathering direct feedback from pupils, staff and parents. Inclusion is therefore highly competitive and is an accolade that reflects the hard work, aspiration and dedication of our pupils, staff and parents.

With a "London in the countryside" feel and set within 120 acres of grounds in North London, Mill Hill gives "pupils the space to breathe". It is not, however, just the space and facilities that Tatler recognises. The Guide celebrates how Mill Hill "balances tradition with an open outlook", being a place where pupils are happy and supported by a "strong house system". Recognition is also given to the school's high academic standards, reflected in the significant improvement in both GCSE and A Level results over the past three years.

Mill Hill combines these high academic standards with strong pastoral and co-curricular provision. As Tatler highlights, "ambition also translates into sporting success … backed up by advanced facilities, clinical professionals and tailored performance programmes". Both current and former Millhillians have gone on to play for the likes of Arsenal and England Rugby. It is this balance between academics and co-curricular opportunities, tradition and an open outlook, that lies at the heart of Mill Hill.

"Heathfield may be small, but there is absolutely nothing small about its ambitions." Heathfield's culture is defined by a "small school, big opportunities" outlook, where the foundations for every child to flourish are laid and every child is known. Pupils at Heathfield are never lost in the crowd and, as Tatler recognises, "everyone seems to know each other … and get along swimmingly".

Since its founding in 1899, Heathfield has continued to progress and develop to ensure that its pupils are best provided for. One recent development, highlighted by Tatler, is the move to co-education, with the Sixth Form becoming co-educational this September.

Tudor Hall empowers every girl to flourish. Founded in 1850, Tudor Hall is one of the UK's oldest girls' boarding and day schools. For 175 years, the school has tailored every aspect of its education to provide the very best experience and outcomes for each pupil.

At Tudor Hall, exceptional pastoral care is at the heart of school life. As recognised by Tatler, "pastoral care is given precision", creating an environment where "every girl is cared for and known". This culture of wellbeing and individual support enables pupils to thrive both personally and academically.

This is complemented by an ambitious approach to learning that encourages girls to take intellectual risks, develop a growth mindset and aspire to achieve their full potential. Tatler describes the school's creative offering as "ambitious", while noting that "sports are competitive" and that a "new Tennis Academy offers a pathway combining coaching, competition and academics". The school's forward-looking approach extends to the curriculum, with Tatler observing that "new sixth form courses point to a curriculum with wide horizons".

Through its unique combination of outstanding pastoral care, academic ambition and exceptional opportunities beyond the classroom, Tudor Hall nurtures confident, compassionate and capable young women who are empowered to fulfil their potential and make a positive impact on the world.

The prep years are a time of discovery, growth and possibility. This perspective lies at the heart of Framlingham College Prep School. As Tatler notes, one visitor reported that "pulling into the drive instantly evoked the feeling of 'a childhood unplugged'". During the prep years, pupils are given greater independence and the foundations they need to build a lifelong love of learning. Alongside this, every child is given the opportunity to shine.

This ethos is perhaps most evident in the rich co-curricular programme on offer. Tatler celebrates this, recognising that there is "plenty of sport" and that "hockey is particularly strong". Leading the Prep School is, according to Tatler, the "dynamic head Simone Roche".
