Working Towards Becoming a Rights Respecting School at Mill Hill International

Mill Hill International has begun its journey towards recognition as a Rights Respecting School, an award presented to schools by UNICEF UK. This initiative is based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), a global agreement that protects and promotes children’s rights, ensuring they grow up safe, healthy, and valued.

By embedding children’s rights into our curriculum, assemblies, tutorial programme, policies, and daily interactions, we are helping our students to develop a strong sense of fairness, respect, and responsibility. We have also launched a student-led steering group called The Change Makers. This group champions children’s rights by driving initiatives, promoting inclusion, and ensuring the School’s policies and practices align with the values of a Rights Respecting School.

We are at the beginning of this journey, having achieved the Bronze Award. With the combined efforts of our teachers, staff, and The Change Makers, we are determined to progress towards the Gold Award.
