Kingshott School is thriving in its exciting new chapter as an all-through 3-16 school, with continued progress in developing its GCSE offerings. This year, we proudly welcomed our first cohort of Year 9 students, known as our ‘Founders’. Their journey marks a significant milestone as they prepare to select their GCSE subjects—a process that has sparked lively discussions among staff eager to champion their specialist area.
Following the success of our first admissions morning last January, we are delighted to host a second event this January for prospective Year 7 students planning to stay with us through to Year 11. Interest in our Senior School is growing steadily, a testament to the appeal of our enhanced facilities, engaging curriculum, and supportive community.
Our new science laboratories have already become a hub of experimentation and discovery. Students have embarked on exciting projects, including remotely controlling an observatory in Hawaii to capture incredible images of distant galaxies. Whilst further along the corridor, our brand new 3D Art and Design Studio is beginning to take shape. The involvement of students in shaping their environment is another hallmark of our approach. They have taken an active role in redesigning their study areas, ensuring spaces are tailored to their needs. Plans are also underway for a transformation of the dining area, further enhancing the students’ school experience.
Becoming a member of the Mill Hill Education Group has further strengthened our development. This partnership has already enabled excellent sharing of good practice and enriching visits to colleagues at Abbot’s Hill School, Mill Hill School, and St Joseph’s In The Park. These collaborative opportunities are enhancing our teaching approaches and providing valuable insights into best practices, particularly discussions surrounding the development of our GCSE offer.
Our transition to an all-through school has been warmly embraced by the local community, providing families with a seamless educational journey for their children. With strong foundations and strengthening links across the Group, we look forward to building on this momentum in the years to come.
