We are delighted to announce the launch of Bligh House, a pioneering new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) centre for students aged 11 to 16, set within the beautiful grounds of Cobham Hall School site in Kent. Bligh House, developed in partnership with Chiltern Way Academy Trust (CWAT), opens in January 2025, offering world-class education and support for students with autism.
Bligh House will provide a therapeutic environment, blending CWAT’s specialized teaching methodologies with the values of independent schooling. Located in Cobham Hall’s serene, historic setting, students will benefit from a tranquil learning space equipped with modern educational resources and a range of exceptional facilities including; sensory rooms, quiet areas, a swimming pool, a sports hall, and extensive and peaceful outdoor spaces.
Bligh House is designed for students with autism, with a focus on small class sizes, personalized and holistic support from specialist staff, and an emphasis on developing life skills. Alongside their academic journey, students will develop critical self-management skills, independence, and self-confidence, with an overarching aim to prepare them for fulfilling lives.
The school's phased intake begins in January 2025 with an intimate cohort of up to 10 students, growing gradually to a capacity of 60. This approach ensures a carefully managed and smooth experience for all. Prospective parents are encouraged to register their interest early, as space is limited.
We believe this joint initiative, between two award-winning educational institutions, is a partnership for success in allowing every child the very best opportunities to succeed.
