Mill Hill School was thrilled to host the legendary Barbarians FC for two incredible days as they prepared for their highly anticipated match against Fiji in the Killik & Co Cup this Saturday at Twickenham Stadium. This remarkable visit was not just an extraordinary experience for the players but also an inspiring event for the entire school community.

The Barbarians, renowned for their tradition of exciting rugby and sportsmanship, were incredibly generous with their time. On the second day of their visit, they provided Mill Hill’s 1st XV players with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train alongside them. The sessions took place in stunning surroundings on Mill Hill’s meticulously maintained pitch. The warm weather and condition of the pitch certainly added to the overall experience, making it a memorable occasion for all involved.

One of the many highlights of the Barbarians' visit was the heartfelt presentation of a personalised shirt to Mill Hill’s Head, David Benson. This wonderful gesture epitomised the spirit of camaraderie and respect that the Barbarians FC are known for. Additionally, members of the Old Millhillians Club were invited to watch the training sessions and enjoyed a delightful lunch afterwards, creating a sense of community and connection that will be cherished for years to come.

This visit has left a lasting impression on the Mill Hill pupils, inspiring them to pursue excellence both on and off the field.

Aaron Liffchak, Director of Sport at Mill Hill School, expressed his gratitude and excitement about the visit: "I am immensely grateful to Will Tyler, who played a crucial role in making this happen, and to the Barbarians FC for their time and generosity. It has been seventeen years since Mill Hill School last hosted an international rugby team, hosting such a prestigious team has been an invaluable experience for our pupils and staff and I'm sure it won't be long until we see another team taking advantage of our beautiful surroundings. We look forward to cheering the boys on this Saturday and wish them the very best in their match against Fiji!"
