At the heart of Mill Hill Education Group lies a simple yet impactful mission: to empower individuals through education.
The importance of education cannot be overstated; it is what our local societies are built upon and how futures are shaped. We believe that every individual possesses unique potential waiting to be unlocked, and it is our purpose to provide the tools through education to unleash them.
This belief is not just a mantra; it's the driving force behind everything we do. And there are three ways in which we propel this belief forward:
Our curriculum reflects our dedication to providing a well-rounded education that meets the needs of today's learners. While we place a strong emphasis on core subjects such as English and Maths, we also acknowledge the importance of preparing pupils for the demands of the 21st century. Therefore, subjects like computer science and design technology are integrated into the curriculum across all our schools.
We are particularly proud to highlight the offerings at Mill Hill Senior School, Mill Hill International, Belmont Preparatory School, Kingshott School and St Joseph’s In The Park. At Grimsdell, Mill Hill Pre-Prep, and Lyonsdown School, we also focus on nurturing pupils' computational thinking skills in a secure environment.
We understand that every child deserves a high-quality education tailored to their individual needs. Therefore, we prioritise providing personalised support to ensure that each student can fully benefit from the resources available to them.
At Mill Hill Education Group, we believe in fostering an environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential. We are committed to providing comprehensive support and care, ensuring that each student receives the personalised attention they need to succeed. Our schools are dedicated to offering robust pastoral care, tailored educational support, and a nurturing community that values the unique strengths and abilities of every pupil.
For instance, at Grimsdell, Mill Hill Pre-Prep the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) liaises closely with the pupils’ teachers in order to support the pupils according to their specific needs. The Learning Support department at Mill Hill Senior School provides support for pupils who have a learning difficulty and/or disability including those with an Education and Health Care plan. Cobham Hall is recognised by CReSTeD (the Council for the Registration of Schools Teaching Dyslexic Students). Pupils who had received help from the Student Support Department at Cobham Hall, have held roles in the Student Leadership Team, gained scholarships and more.
Mill Hill Education Group understands the importance of learning beyond traditional academia. We want pupils to thrive outside the classroom and through the co-curricular programme offered at our schools, where they can develop soft skills which they can use for life. All our schools offer enriching experiences, such as outdoor learning and off-site outings, though we highlight a few examples here.
Outdoor Learning
At Grimsdell, Mill Hill Pre-Prep children are offered an outdoor learning experience through Forest School, where they can develop their thinking skills and grow in a wonderful natural environment. Children at Kingshott School engage in a woodland or a natural wooded environment regularly. It is also worth noting that St Joseph’s In The Park, located in a beautiful parkland, has the largest and most outstanding Forest School within the Mill Hill Education Group.
Trips
Pupils of Mill Education Group are given the opportunity to embark on off-site outings as an extension to their curriculum. At Kingshott School past trips have included The Houses of Parliament and The National Space Centre. The school is also regularly visited by experts in different fields which gives the pupils the opportunity to gain knowledge in many different topics. School trips are part of life at Lyonsdown School, past trips have included Kensington Palace and Willows Farm, and at St Joseph’s In The Park, pupils are able to join lunchtime and afternoon clubs such as Coding, Photography, Chess, Netball and more. At Keble Prep pupils participate in educational trips and pupils who study art at Belmont, Mill Hill Prep are offered a thriving 11+ and 13+ Art Scholarship Programme with sessions running after school. Pupils have the opportunity to work on independent projects which helps in their journey of becoming independent artists. Mill Hill Senior and Mill Hill International School offer plenty of opportunities for pupils to explore the Creative Arts. Pupils can engage in many concerts, productions, competitions and projects throughout the school year. The pupils’ creativity is also stimulated through excursions to London with the creative departments to visit exhibitions, plays, concerts and recitals.
Sport
At Mill Hill Senior School, pupils have access to impressive sports facilities, including a fully equipped fitness suite, indoor cricket nets and a 25-metre swimming pool. A Sports Scholarship programme is also available in which pupils can be taught by those who have played and coached at the very highest level. The pupils have the opportunity to connect with professional players and coaches through Mill Hill Senior School’s partnerships with professional clubs. The current professional partnerships are with: Saracens Rugby, Middlesex Cricket, Hampstead & Westminster Hockey Club, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and Podium Analytics. Lastly, pupils can participate in the co-curricular programme. The school offers over 400 clubs and activities including the Combined Cadet Force.
At Mill Hill Education Group, our mission goes beyond imparting knowledge. It is about nurturing potential, building resilience, and empowering pupils to shape their own futures. Through an all-round approach to education that covers academic excellence, individualised support, and memorable experiences, we are committed to building bright futures for all our pupils.
