Mill Hill School opens
The school was set up in 1807 by merchants and ministers from Christian non conformist backgrounds in order to provide a place of learning for the boys from their communities: the “ancient” public schools at this time required.

Belmont opens
Belmont opens as the Prep School to Mill Hill School, having previously been a Junior Boarding House for the school
1995
Grimsdell opens
Mill Hill Pre Prep opens in former Winterstoke House, a former boarding house for Mill Hill School
1997
Mill Hill School and Belmont become fully co-educational
1998
The Mill Hill School Foundation is formed

The Mount merges with The Mill Hill School Foundation

Mill Hill International opens
Mill Hill International (formerly The Mount) opens, offering a day and boarding school for International pupils aged 13-17

Cobham Hall merges
Cobham Hall, a boarding and day school for girls aged 11-18 in Kent, merges with The Mill Hill School Foundation

Keble Prep merges
Keble Prep an independent boys school for ages 4-13 in Winchmore Hill, North London merges with The Mill Hill School Foundation

1729 Maths School | The UK's first specialist maths secondary school
Mill Hill School and Belmont were delighted to have been selected to launch 1729 Maths School in partnership with Purposeful Ventures and with the support of external funding. 1729 Maths School is for pupils aged 11-18 and has a mission to identify, nurture and develop world-class mathematical talent.

Our first international school opens in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Opening in September 2025, our first school outside the UK will open in partnership with Ornsirin, a leading property developer.
